Christmas Card Recycling

Christmas Cards Online is pleased to support the Woodland Trust's Christmas Card recycling scheme. The annual Christmas card recycling scheme, run by the Woodland Trust and Recycle Now, aims to collect 100M cards and raise enough money from them to plant thousands of trees.

Individuals will be able to drop off their Christmas cards in special collection bins found in branches of WH Smith, Tesco, TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer. After this the christmas cards will be taken to paper mills where they will be recycled into new paper products. The money raised as a result will be used to help the Woodland Trust plant thousands of new trees throughout the UK. Converting the cards into other paper products and saving them from landfill will also save around 2,600 tonnes of greenhouse gases - equivalent to taking 800 cars off the road in 2008, Recycle Now have said.
